1. Passion is something I live and breathe each day. I would bring that enthusiasm to the job daily, among other skills.
2. Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented, I am committed to great work that both you and I can be proud of. I strive for excellence.
3. Twitter is out-of-the-box and the way people are using the site is unconventional. I can bring innovative ideas to your company.
4. Despite this attempt to be over the top, I am generally a pretty “normal” person. I’ll bring tact and professionalism to any position.
5. I’m self-motivated. In under a month, I’ve built my presence online to being unheard of to now at least a blip on the radar.
6. Outgoing & personable, I work well as part of a team, but also can work on my own. I can relate to people of all kinds. Plus, I’ve got wit.
7. I won’t just get my job done, but I’ll take initiative where needed and will work hard to be helpful beyond just my job description.
8. Even though I’m applying for admin positions, I am also talented at marketing and graphic design. I can apply those skills as well.
9. Since I’m tooting my own horn already, I might as well throw in that I’m smart. Tech-savvy. A quick learner. And extremely dedicated.
10. Over the course of 2 days, I designed, developed & implemented this campaign that has amassed approx. 10,000 unique hits & over 150 RTs.

It’s such a simple idea, yet so brilliant. What you have already accomplished is pretty amazing - and it shows what one person can do when they embrace and harness the power of social networking and modern technology. I think you have shown yourself how much you can truly accomplish when you are dedicated, proactive, and use your time wisely. It’ll pay off big time in the end!

Great idea. I’ve always been told that in an interview you should balance the reasons for WHY you should be hired with WHY you want to work for the company… perhaps a follow up post “10 reasons why I want to work for Twitter” would compliment this quite well…. Good luck with the campaign!

Hi Jamie
I appreciate and support your creative approach. As someone who has been laid off, I’ve had to implement my own differentiated job seeking efforts towards landing my next opportunity.
Okay…so here’s my constructive feedback from an experienced director of talent acquisition who spent a lot of years developing college and mba recruiting programs as well coaching students in landing there next gig.
While I think you have completely differentiated yourself and brought attention/buzz to your goal, most of your “10 reasons why” do not differentiate you very much from many other entry level candidates who might hungry to work for twitter. I would hate to see all your work go down as the latest twitter buzz campaign, since it seems to me that you really want to make an impact through your work.
Here my direct feedback and actions I would recommend:
1. Ask yourself, where does twitter have opportunity for improvement in their marketing and graphics? Where are they not optimized, where are they weak, and where are they threatened.
2. Once you ask yourself these questions and vet the answers….Just Do The Work. It’s clear to me that you’re committed to working at twitter and willing to spend any extra hours you have dedicated to this goal. So I challenge you to just do the work. The worst case scenario is that you’ll be doing what you love to do for a company you would love to work at, look at it as an investment. At a minimum, you will have created a great piece of work that will further contribute to your future marketability to Twitter and if not them, they’re competitors.
3. Your 10 reasons why…
#3 “I can bring innovative ideas to your company”
I say deliver the innovative ideas (protect them)
#8″I am also talented at marketing and graphic design”
I say deliver solutions that will improve the current twitter marketing and graphic design.
#7I’ll take initiative where needed and will work hard to be helpful beyond just my job description.
say see #2 above.
In closing, i want to say Im a fan of what your doing so I hope you have taken this constructively and use some, all or none of it. I also want to reiterate that I’m practicing what I’m preaching and while it may seem high maintenance to some, showing what you can do vs. saying what you can do will always get you significantly closer to your goal.
Sincerely,
Craig

I like it. I’m doing something similar, though it’s not (yet) to the same degree. Am trying to get into publishing and have put up Facebook advertisements, started a blog about my experiences (which include interviewing people in the field), gone to networking events, started freelancing, and am chronicling my “adventures” on Twitter to everyone in the book biz. So far so good. It’s really these out of the box/creative/DIFFERENT ideas that get employers coming to you rather than the other way around. In my opinion, its the only way to get a job.
