Hi Hiring Manager,
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me on Wednesday. I apologize if I pulled you away from something important, but I just had heard such great things about you from Amy that I wanted to meet you personally. Also, I wanted to show you how passionate I am about Twitter and that I would love to work for your company. Twitter is revolutionizing the way we all share, digest, and interpret information; truly, you are changing the world. I want to be a part of that and I know that I would become an integral part of your team as a young, ambitious, and optimistic value-added team member. I have a track record of not only devising strategy, but implementing it. And, I have quantifiable results in both social media and marketing.
In the past three weeks, I have built my presence online from being an unknown to a large following for both Twitter and my blog. Plus, in that short amount of time, I have built relationships that have led me to an internship at an up and coming startup called Brazen Careerist and a slot as a guest writer (first post debut on Tuesday) on Penelope Trunk’s blog, which amasses 30,000+ subscribers.
Recently, I noticed that the Founders Associate position is not yet filled. I wanted to put my name in the hat for this position, because there is no doubt in my mind that I can perform the tasks listed in the description and go beyond what is asked. I do see that the requirement is to have four years of work experience and I realize that I’m a bit short in the area. However, I feel like I am capable of excelling at this position because I am determined, intelligent, passionate, and willing to work hard for a company that I believe in. I have the administration skills necessary to complete the everyday-type tasks, but am also diligent, business-oriented, and have a desire to make a positive impact on the way the world utilizes social media.
When I read the job description for the Founders Associate, I felt like the position would be an amazing fit for me. I know that I can offer so much to Twitter and especially to the founders. If you want, I can provide letters of recommendation from people that can attest to my skill level and also to my passionate and entrepreneurial work ethic. I have attached my resume for you to look over as well, but I do hope you give me the opportunity to come in and speak with you personally about how I can make an impact at Twitter.
Please let me know if you would like letters of recommendation or anything else in order to aid your decision. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Sincerely,
Jamie L. Varon
